which means wise woman in Irish, is a tribute to the stories of our land.  The Bean Feasa was the healer, the seer, the guide and the connection between realms.  

This original hand drawn digital art piece is inspired by the stories of the Bean Feasa.  It expresses the female connection to the land, her contribution to the mind wealth of the land and the struggles when she finds herself outside of the societal expectations of that land.  

The wise woman is often sought out by individuals in need and yet is diminished and slurred by the powers that be in the land.

The woman curled in the nest, with questions.  Is it her own nest or has she fallen into this one.  Are those eggs her rejection of her expected role or her sacrificing.  Are they abandoned or are they part of her extended family, waiting for warmth.  The trinkets are sprinkled through the nest but are ignored now, as irrelevant, tired adornments, once shiny toys that have lost their lustre.
